But I found it interesting and entertaining, especially when Janice-in-Kirk begins to lose it and goes insane. Sometimes it was a challenge to get around the fact that it was a woman inside Kirk’s body. □ I enjoyed seeing Shatner performing as Janice-in-Kirk during the episode. The episode gives William Shatner a chance to play a villain for a change in ‘Star Trek’ and also give a ‘hammy’ performance. And of course since Kirk and Janice had this romantic involvement, it would be a factor for personal revenge on her part. I don’t really see how that could be a problem, as surely they would have lady captains by the 23rd century.īut then again Janice is insane and she could have made this all up in her head. The reason why Janice couldn’t be a captain of a starship was apparently due to her gender. It was tense when Kirk was trapped inside Janice’s body and Janice was using Kirk’s body to be captain, which is what she wants. I found this a really gripping ‘Star Trek’ episode to watch from the series. Soon Kirk is inside Janice’s body whilst Janice is inside Kirk’s, as Janice wants to be the captain of the Enterprise. Janice seems to be on the verge of death.īut it is all a trap, as Janice stuns Kirk in an alien machine that can swap personalities. It’s there where Kirk reunites with an old flame of his named Dr. The episode has the Enterprise visit Camus II in response to a distress call. It’s not the spectacular season finale, but it is decent to end the series. Season 3 of the original ‘Star Trek’, for its ups and downs, comes to a close in the final episode of the series, ‘Turnabout Intruder’.
